Fed up of chipped nails? I’ve finally found a solution!

As soon as I hit my ‘girly’ years, painting my nails became an absolute must. Along with hair and beauty, nails are something I’m adamant should look flawless. No one likes a chipped nail, and when the chipping becomes more and more apparent, it’s time to take action and do something about it!

I’ve had various different experiences with nail treatments, some good, some not so good. I was never one of the diehard nail fanatics who booked their appointments well in advance, but for special occasions I enjoyed treating my nails to some much needed TLC. I’ve had both acrylic and gel, and although they looked fab, I couldn’t afford to keep up to their monthly maintenance.

But I’ve recently discovered gel overlay on my actual nails. Why did I never think about this before?! It’s so much cheaper, looks great, helps my own nails to grow and the chipping is long gone! Basically, I LOVE it, and would definitely recommend to anyone who is fed up of the DIY nail game.

I went for a deep purple for my first set; a colour I absolutely love and is great for this time of year. It matches different outfits and looks lovely on shorter nails.

This time around, I’ve gone for a teal colour; again another one of my favourite colours that really creates a spring/summer vibe. It does tend to be a little harder to match to outfits, but I love the colour, so it doesn’t matter too much.

My nail technician has so many different colours to choose from; great but sometimes a disaster for an indecisive soul like me!

We get there eventually, and I leave with a happy smile as well as happy nails.

I’d love to hear all about your nail stories, what are your favourite colours? Any tips for helping the gel last as long as possible?

Help a newbie out!
