I remember being told as a child that I had to wear glasses, not all the time, but throughout the day at school; the world ended as you can imagine.
Glasses weren’t ‘cool’ at this point, they were just another thing for kids to pick up on, and use as an excuse to throw a little abuse around here and there. I mean I was already ginger and freckly, wasn’t this enough?! Jeeeeeez!
But wearing glasses has become a fashion essential nowadays, and I’m proud to wear them. Aside from the fact that I have to, I love coordinating them with my outfits and wearing pairs of different shapes and sizes.
I’d been wearing a cheap pair from Specsavers up until recently; they were the classic ‘geek’ style that everyone seemed to adopt in 2014. However, I think the ‘geek’ phase is definitely wearing thin, and it’s left to us ‘real’ glasses wearers to continue the trend or figure something else out to take the world by storm.
Now, I’m not sure my new pairs take the world by storm exactly, but they are really lovely, and I’ve had lots of compliments about them.
I pushed the boat about and invested in a couple that I knew would last me a few years; they do a great deal at Specsavers, you basically get two designer pairs of glasses for the price of one. Taking full advantage of this offer, I got two pairs of Max&Co glasses, what do you think?
I won’t lie, I hadn’t heard of the brand before now, but they definitely felt special on my face, I could feel the quality; apparently the company are based in Selfridges next to the Victoria Beckham section, oooh la la!
So, wearing glasses has never been cooler, and I’m fully embracing the ‘geek chic’ look, I love my glasses and it’s great to be able to wear something which I need comfortably, confidently and stylishly!
